pebble drifts

This is another view of the dry salt lake, Lake Moore, with drifts of pebbles in lines on the pale pink lake surface. I imagine they have been washed there when there has been some rain – but it may also be that the wind has blown the stones into these lines. In the distance is a mirage just below the far landforms and in the foreground, the hardy salt bush plants at the edge of the lake.

It’s gouache and pencil on paper 10cms x 10cms.
