A larger view of the rockface

mt augustus rock face 38cmx60cm gouache pencil

This view of the rockface at Mt Augustus is larger and more colourful than an earlier version I posted before Christmas. It’s 60cms by 38cms and I used a combination of gouache, watercolour pencils and graphite to try to create the feeling of the high rockface with a crumbling slope of rocks and small bushes at the base. It’s a pretty loose interpretation of the actual rockface but I hope gives an impression of the size of this very large monocline.

Best wishes for the new Year!
