Last week I posted some of my attempts at working out how to depict the bushes growing on rocky slopes of Mt Augustus in the Gascoyne area of Western Australia. Here is the drawing that I have just completed using some of those techniques. I used an eraser to blur some of the pencil lines of the bushes. I hope it shows the contrast between the light ephemeral look of the vegetation against the solid rocks of the hills. It’s a small drawing 24cm by 17cm and is done in pencil on paper.
