Flat-topped hill

Flat-topped hill Gascoyne 33x20

This is a small drawing using coloured pencils of a flat-topped hill just inland from Gascoyne Junction in Western Australia. The country around there is flat but with outcrops and some flat-topped hills which seem impressive even though they are not very high. This is ancient land that has been eroded for millennium and these flat-topped hills must be the remnants of an earlier landform. The soft-looking shrubby trees in the foreground are growing in reddish-orange soil.
