Hot weather and drawing

It’s the New Year and the weather is heating up. It makes it hard to get motivated to do some drawing but I was inspired by a young artist in Melbourne who had a show at ACCA. Kenny Pittock had used his long train commute each day to play a game of drawing people on the train until they noticed, or got off, or someone stood in front of them, then he stopped drawing. He showed most people his drawing of them and had some wonderful experiences. He ended up with a large number of drawings that were shown as part of NEW14 at ACCA. See his ACCA Art blog entry here.  Best of all his quick and confident drawing style motivated me to do some drawing.

Today was a hot day so we went to the banks of the estuary to look out over the water at speedboats and anchored power boats and yachts and people walking in the shallows looking for crabs. So here’s the drawing!
